Kelsey Harper is a graduate student in Texas A&M's Department of Hispanic Studies. Her research interests include sociolinguistics and Spanish in the United States.

Kelsey's dissertation research focuses on how Peruvian immigrants in the United States adapt to a new cultural and linguistic setting where their unique variety of Spanish comes into contact with others. Through observing both online and face-to-face interactions of Peruvians in the U.S., a larger picture is formed of attitudes toward linguistic change, varieties, and what is gained and lost in the migratory process.
